Instrument Pilot Training
Instrument Procedures Handbook: FAA-H-8261-1 An excellent resource for instrument-rated pilots who want to learn how to maximize their skills in an "Instrument Flight Rules" (IFR) environment, this handbook contains up-to-date information on operations regulated by the National Airspace System. In-depth sections cover all phases of flight from takeoff to landing, including detailed coverage of instrument charts; takeoff, en route, approach, and landing procedures; human factors; land and hold short operations; and runway incursions. Intended primarily as a technical reference for professional pilots, the added glossary, index, full-color photos, and illustrations make this a valuable training aid for flight instructors, instrument pilots, and students.
Instrument Flying Handbook by Thomas P. Turner, Complete and essential instrument knowledge is compiled in this pilot-ready reference. Features human factors in instrument flying; an Instrument Rating Training Syllabus; primary and support instruments; flight phases on instruments; instrument navigation; emergency procedures and illustrations; IRF flight planning; IFR flight charts; and more.
Instrument rating - Instrument Rating refers to the qualifications that a pilot must have in order to fly under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). It requires additional training and instruction beyond what is required for a Private Pilot certificate, including rules and procedures specific to instrument flying, additional instruction in meteorology and more intensive training in flight solely by reference to instruments. Civilian Pilot Training Program - The Civilian Pilot Training Program (or CPTP), waws a flight training program sponsored by the United States government, ostensibly to increase the number of civilan pilots but also including military purposes. Pilot Training School - The Pilot Training Squadron trains RNZAF pilots. Private Pilot Licence - A Private Pilot Licence (or, in the United States, a certificate) permits the holder to operate an aircraft, initially only under visual flight rules. In most countries, a private pilot possessing an instrument rating may also conduct flights under instrument flight rules.
